The next Primarch from Forgeworld arrives- Roboute Guilliman, the Primarch of the Ultramarines.
This figure was very detailed, like all the other Primarchs I’ve done. He’s got all the typical eagles and skulls, and the Ultra symbol of course. Unlike the others though, his ostentatiousness is somewhat toned down. He’s got a very limited color scheme, with just a spot of green, red, leather, and flesh to diverge from the blue and yellow metal. The gladius got a wash of blue ink and highlight with silver. I had to keep the armor lines clean, and the white cape was a strong contrast to the armor.
The scenic base was fun. I haven’t done much marble, so I had to do some experimenting to achieve the effect. It has that nice Roman feel, which of course matches Roboute’s decorated armor (he’s really ready to conquer Gaul here).
